1-Year subscription for EcoStruxure™ IT Design CFD, Schneider Electric's premier CFD software for designing and optimizing data center cooling systems. Subscription term starts on end-user activation. Optimizing cooling and energy consumption requires an understanding of airflow patterns in the data center whitespace, which can only be predicted by and visualized with the science of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Our CFD technology follows ASHRAE Guidelines and the latest research to ensure maximum accuracy for users of any experience level, featuring high-fidelity physics models developed by data center cooling experts.

EcoStruxure IT Advisor CFD's solver is efficiently parallelized and runs on high-end graphical processing units GPUs in the cloud. Not only is ITA CFD uncommonly fast among CFD tools, but it is uncommonly robust too thanks to its automatic grid cell generation and inherently-transient solution method.
Start a room model from scratch or use one of the many Reference Models as a starting point. Pre-configured models of common data center equipment include all required physics; they can be "stamped" into position and duplicated as desired. Equipment is intuitively placed on white space floor - then moved in the vertical direction if desired.The computational grid and other CFD settings are entirely automatically and transparent to the user.
Object placement is intuitive and mirrors real-world data centers. For example, containment volumes can be simply placed adjacent to IT Rack front or rear faces. Similarly, racks and cooling units can be ducted to a dropped-ceiling with a single menu selection. ITA CFD's powerful IT Rack model automatically includes the effects of leakage airflow and recirculation inside of the rack. This means that IT Racks can be uncontained, contained, placed with their rear faces against a wall, etc. ITA CFD's unique Cooling Check assesses cooling performance with a graphical indication on the top of each rack based on the type of containment that has been specified or not. For example, the Cooling Check will provide warnings if insufficient exhaust air is captured at the rear of the rack when rear hot-aisle containment is configured.
Ecostruxure IT Free allows customers visibility of their critical data center equipment. It consists of a software gateway, a mobile app and a cloud-based account to store the customer data, as well as a web interface to allow data visualization.
The Cooling Check indication on each rack provides a comprehensive cooling assessment at a glance. The rack pop-up menu gives additional details about the internal-rack airflows along with External Capture Indices. The latter metrics quantify the effectiveness of the cooling architecture in delivering cool air to the rack inlet and scavenging warm air from the rack exhaust. Temperature, pressure, speed, and velocity vectors can be displayed at any 2D slice and you can use your mouse as a probe to see values at any point in the room. Raised-floor and dropped-ceiling tiles can be colored by airflow rate.
