Features

  • The Hubbell NMPI050 is a 1/2-inch Non-Metallic (NM) Power-Input connector. It is a specialized, one-piece "snap-in" fitting used to secure non-metallic sheathed cable (commonly known as NMD90 or Romex) to electrical boxes or enclosures.
  • Unlike traditional metal connectors that require a locknut and a screwdriver, the NMPI050 features a tool-less, snap-in design. You simply push the connector into a standard 1/2-inch knockout, and it locks into place. The cable is then pushed through the connector, where internal flexible "fingers" grip the jacket securely.
  • This connector is versatile and designed to accommodate a variety of cable configurations. It is typically rated for: One or two 14/2 or 12/2 NM cables. One 14/3 or 12/3 NM cable. It provides an excellent, low-profile fit that is perfect for tight spaces inside small junction boxes or device boxes.
  • Made from high-strength, flame-retardant thermoplastic, the NMPI050 is entirely non-conductive and corrosion-proof. Because it is plastic, it eliminates the risk of the connector's edges cutting into the wire insulation over time, and it won't rust in humid environments like basements or crawlspaces.
  • The Hubbell NMPI050 is UL Listed and CSA Certified. It meets all NEC and CEC requirements for cable strain relief. Using these connectors is often a "best practice" for residential electrical work because they ensure a consistent, secure grip on the cable that won't loosen due to vibration, providing a safer installation than old-style "hit-lock" metal connectors.
