Description
Protector plate. Meets requirements of CEC rule 12-616. (200-Pack)
Features
- When electrical cables (like NMD90/Loomex) or pipes are run through holes drilled in wood or metal studs, they are vulnerable to being punctured by drywall screws or finish nails. The Iberville 66 provides a hardened steel barrier that deflects these fasteners, preventing electrical shorts, fires, or water leaks.
- This plate measures 3 inches by 1-1/2 inches. This size is designed to perfectly cover the width of a standard 2x4 stud where a hole has been drilled, ensuring the vulnerable area of the cable or pipe is fully shielded.
- The Hubbell 66 features integrated pointed prongs (teeth) on the back. You do not need screws or nails to install it; you simply position the plate over the cable/pipe on the stud and hammer it into place. The prongs bite into the wood, holding the plate securely during the drywalling process.
- It is manufactured from 16-gauge galvanized steel. This thickness is specifically engineered to resist penetration from high-speed drywall screw guns and hammers, providing the mechanical strength required by building codes.
- While a staple for electricians, it is also widely used by plumbers to protect PEX or copper water lines. Any service passing through a structural member within 1-1/4 inches (32mm) of the edge of the stud requires this protection.
