It is used to finish an "exposed work" installation, protecting internal wiring while providing a specific mounting point for high-amperage electrical devices.
- The cover features a precision-cut 2.156-inch (2-5/32") diameter round opening. This specific size is the industry standard for mounting 30-Amp and 50-Amp single receptacles, such as those used for heavy-duty power tools, welders, or large appliances.
- With a 3/8-inch raised surface, this cover provides an additional 4.6 cubic inches of internal wiring capacity. This extra space is critical when working with the thick 8 AWG or 6 AWG wires required for 30A and 50A circuits, as it allows for proper wire-bending radii and prevents the overcrowding that can lead to electrical shorts.
- Manufactured from heavy-duty galvanized steel using a "drawn" process, the 8366 is built to withstand mechanical impacts and resist corrosion.
