Description
Ferraz Shawmut Class C fuses have British standard (BS88) dimensions and are exact replacements for the British fuses and older HRCII-C fuses. Class C fuses are not dimensionally or electrically interchangeable with other North American fuses. They feature ceramic bodies and bolt-in mounting. They are for short-circuit protection only, in motor controllers, for example, where overload protection is provided by an overload relay.
Features
- This FES series Canadian Class C fuse features specific British Standard (BS88) dimensions with offset blade tags. It is engineered explicitly as an exact physical and electrical drop-in replacement for older legacy HRCII-C systems and British-spec equipment, meaning it will not physically seat or interchange with standard North American Class J, CC, or RK-style fuse clips.
- Rated for a continuous current of 30 Amps at up to 600V AC or 460V DC. It provides heavy-duty power infrastructure with stable circuit-carrying reliability across standard 50/60 Hz distribution lines.
- Engineered with fast-acting, short-circuit-only protection characteristics, this single-use fuse is designed to respond exclusively to severe electrical faults and short circuits. It does not provide low-level thermal overload protection; instead, it is ideally deployed as a back-up safety link upstream of motor controllers or machinery layouts where overload protection is already handled by a dedicated overload relay.
