Features

  • The Hubbell Iberville 53151K is a 4-inch square metallic extension ring designed to sit on top of an existing junction box. Its primary purpose is to add extra depth and cubic volume to a box that is already installed, typically when a wall surface is being built out (e.g., adding a layer of tile) or when more space is needed for complex wiring
  • With a 1-1/2 inch depth, the 53151K adds 21.0 cubic inches of capacity to your electrical system. This is an essential solution for meeting electrical code requirements regarding "wire-fill" when you are adding new conductors or installing bulky devices like smart dimmers and GFCIs in a box that was originally too shallow.
  • The ring is equipped with a versatile array of concentric knockouts (1/2" and 3/4"). These precision-punched openings allow you to easily bring new conduit runs or armored cables into the extended portion of the box from any side, providing maximum flexibility for adding new circuits or light fixtures to an existing installation.
  • Manufactured from pre-galvanized high-strength steel, this extension ring is built for non-combustible construction. Its rigid, drawn-steel design ensures that it won't warp or bend when under mechanical stress, providing a continuous metallic shield for your electrical connections that is far superior to plastic extenders.
