Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.

- Engineered with a deliberate time-delay characteristic, the AJT8 handles high inrush currents without opening prematurely. This makes it the ideal solution for protecting motors and transformers, allowing your equipment to start up smoothly while still providing high-speed response to dangerous overloads and short circuits.
- The Mersen Amp-Trap 2000® technology significantly limits peak let-thru current during a fault, often before it can reach its full destructive potential. By reducing the thermal and magnetic stress on your breakers and contactors, it helps maintain your Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) and prevents catastrophic damage to your control panels.
- As a standard Class J fuse, the AJT8 is significantly smaller than equivalent Class RK fuses, occupying only a fraction of the panel space. This allows industrial engineers to design smaller, more cost-effective control cabinets without sacrificing the 600VAC/200kA interrupting rating required for heavy-duty industrial power.
- Featuring Mersen’s patented SmartSpot® technology, this fuse provides a permanent, highly visible visual indicator when it has opened. This eliminates the guesswork and time-consuming "megging" of fuses during troubleshooting, allowing your maintenance team to restore power faster and reduce facility downtime.
