Description
PowerPact L-Frame Molded Case Circuit Breaker, LGL36400U31X, are designed to protect electrical systems from damage caused by overloads and short circuits. PowerPact L-frame circuit breakers are available with Micrologic electronic trip units. This breaker is certified to UL, IEC, CE, CSA Standards. Dimensions are 287 mm (H) x 140 mm (W) x 168 mm (D). The parameters to be considered for motor-feeder protection depend on the application (type of machine driven, operating safety, frequency of operation, etc.) As well as the level of continuity of service required by the load or the application and the applicable standards for the protection of equipment. The required electrical functions are isolation, switching, generally at high endurance levels, protection against overloads and short-circuits, adapted to the motor. A motor branch circuit must comply with the requirements of standard UL 508 concerning contactors and their protection.

- This L-Frame circuit breaker features an integrated MicroLogic™ 3.3 electronic trip package providing highly accurate Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection curves. By adjusting the rotary dials directly on the front cover, system integration engineers can fine-tune current settings from 25% up to 100% of the 400A frame size—allowing for tight coordination with specific inductive load spikes while eliminating the nuisance tripping common to legacy thermal-magnetic breakers.
- Built with Square D’s advanced dual-break rotary contact structure, this industrial breaker rapidly splits incoming electrical arcs across two separate contact gaps simultaneously during a high-energy fault. This current-limiting innovation drastically cuts down the peak let-through current and destructive fault energies passing through your downstream panelboards, preventing severe cable degradation and safeguarding your critical automated machinery infrastructure.
- Purpose-engineered for heavy commercial and industrial distribution layouts, this 3-pole breaker operates confidently up to a 600V AC maximum threshold. It delivers certified short-circuit interrupting capacities (SCCR) of 18 kA at 600V AC, 35 kA at 480V AC, and a robust 65 kA at 240V AC, giving facilities engineering teams a versatile, code-compliant overcurrent protection solution for large motor control centers and facility main sub-panels.
- This heavy-duty unit-mount breaker comes completely pre-configured with premium, dual-conductor mechanical box lugs on both the line and load sides. The rugged AL600LS52K3 terminal assemblies safely accommodate a broad range of supply conductors—specifically accepting two cables from 2/0 AWG up to 500 kcmil in either aluminum or copper—giving field contractors optimal wiring flexibility and secure, low-resistance terminations.
- The front interface features a built-in diagnostic cluster complete with localized LED signaling to facilitate instantaneous system tracking. A crisp green "Ready" LED blinks continuously to confirm normal internal microcontroller operations, while dedicated amber and red alarm LEDs illuminate at 90% and 105% of the long-time current threshold, respectively—giving electrical technicians a clear warning of downstream branch overloads before a main circuit shutdown halts production.
