- Also known as "F-clips," the Hubbell 820D is a specialized mounting accessory designed for "old work" or renovation projects. It allows you to securely fasten a standard steel device box (with plaster ears) directly to drywall or paneling when there is no adjacent wall stud for traditional mounting.
- These supports feature a precision-engineered "two-leg" design of equal length. By sliding the clip between the box and the wall material and folding the legs over the box edge, you create a rigid mechanical bond that pulls the box ears tight against the wall surface, preventing the receptacle from "sinking" or shifting during use
- Fabricated from 1.2 mm thick heavy-duty galvanized steel, the 820D provides high tensile strength to withstand the constant pushing and pulling associated with electrical outlets. The galvanized finish ensures long-term resistance to corrosion, maintaining the structural integrity of your electrical installation even in humid or unconditioned environments.
- Designed for high-speed installation, these clips eliminate the need for extra screws or complex bracing behind the wall. Once your wall cutout is made and the box is inserted, the 820D can be positioned and secured in seconds using only standard pliers to bend the tabs, making it the go-to solution for large-scale commercial renovations and residential electrical upgrades.
- CSA certified and compatible with most standard 1-gang and multi-gang steel device boxes equipped with plaster ears. They are optimized for use in walls up to 1-inch thick, providing a code-compliant mounting solution for drywall, wood paneling, or lath and plaster systems.
