Features

  • The Bussmann FNM-10 is a standard 13/32" x 1-1/2" (10mm x 38mm) Midget fuse. It belongs to the FNM series, which is specifically engineered for time-delay performance. This allows the fuse to withstand temporary current surges without opening, making it a reliable choice for circuits that experience brief, high-energy spikes.
  • Rated at 10 Amps, the FNM-10 is optimized for protecting inductive loads. It is commonly used as a supplemental fuse for the primary or secondary side of control transformers and small motor circuits. Its time-lag characteristic ensures that the initial "inrush" of current during startup doesn't cause a nuisance blow, while still protecting against sustained overloads.
  • The FNM-10 features a standard 13/32" diameter and 1-1/2" length. It fits into standard midget fuse blocks or 600V-rated finger-safe holders like the Bussmann CHM series. Because it lacks the "rejection tip" found on Class CC fuses, it is highly versatile for various supplemental protection applications across Canadian industrial machinery.
  • This fuse is rated for 250V AC. It has an Interrupting Rating (AIR) of 10,000 Amps at 125V AC and 200 Amps at 250V AC. While it is excellent for supplemental protection inside a control panel, it is not "branch circuit rated" and should not be used as the primary overcurrent protection for a building's electrical service.
  • The FNM-10 features a fibre tube construction, which provides high mechanical strength and arc-suppression capabilities. However, unlike glass fuses, you cannot see the internal element. Troubleshooting requires a multimeter to check for continuity, a standard practice for Canadian industrial maintenance teams working with opaque-body fuses.
