Mersen USCC Series UltraSafe Modular Fuse holders introduce a new level of safety for Class CC 1-1/2" x 13/32" AC and DC-rated fuses up to 30 amperes. UltraSafe holders qualify as “Finger-safe” under IEC and DIN standards to an IP20 grade of protection, including fuse changing (with the flick of a finger). UltraSafe holders are available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 poles, with or without visual blown-fuse indicators in each pole. Multi-pole units can also be field assembled by ordering pin-tie handles. UltraSafe holders save up to 15% mounting space and any combination can be snapped onto 35mm DIN-rail for extra savings in panel building time. UltraSafe holders with Class CC fuses chosen for Type “2” No Damage protection give one of the safest protection packages in the industry. UltraSafe body material is tough and durable polyamide, with exceptional insulating properties.
Features
- The USCC1 is a 1-pole, 30-Amp, 600V Class CC Fuse Holder from Mersen’s UltraSafe™ series. It is a finger-safe, DIN-rail mounted device designed to hold a single 10x38mm Class CC fuse (like the ATDR or ATQR series). Its primary job is to provide a secure, modular housing that allows for easy fuse replacement and safe circuit isolation.
- The "UltraSafe" designation means the holder is designed to meet IP20 grade protection. Even when the fuse carrier is open, the live parts are recessed so that they cannot be touched by fingers. This significantly reduces the risk of accidental shock for maintenance personnel working inside a live control panel.
- The USCC1 features a compact, space-saving design with a built-in DIN-rail latch. It snaps directly onto standard 35mm DIN rails, making it part of a modular system where multiple holders can be snapped together to create 2-pole or 3-pole configurations. It also features a "lock-out/tag-out" hole in the handle to ensure safety during maintenance.
- While the base USCC1 is a standard holder, it is often available in an "I" version (USCC1I) that includes an integral blown-fuse indicator. This feature uses a small neon or LED light that glows when the fuse has cleared, allowing technicians to identify the faulted circuit instantly without using a multimeter.
- Constructed from high-performance thermoplastic, the USCC1 is UL Listed and CSA Certified for a wide range of industrial applications. It features robust pressure plate terminals that provide a vibration-proof connection for copper wire. With a SCCR (Short Circuit Current Rating) of up to 200,000 Amps, it is capable of protecting the most demanding electrical infrastructures.
