Description
Tri-Onic TR-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TR-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TR100R is a 100-Amp, 250V AC Class RK5 dual-element fuse. It is specifically designed to provide "Type 2" No-Damage protection for motors and electrical distribution systems, offering a high level of current limitation to shield your infrastructure from the destructive forces of short circuits.
- This fuse features a sophisticated time-delay characteristic that handles the temporary high-current inrush typical of large industrial motors and inductive loads. By providing a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of its rated current, the TR100R eliminates "nuisance blowing" while maintaining sensitive protection against sustained overloads.
- With a massive 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC), the TR100R is capable of safely clearing extremely high-energy faults. This makes it an essential safety component for Canadian industrial facilities where high fault currents are present at the service entrance or in major distribution branches.
- As a current-limiting fuse, the TR100R clears faults so rapidly that it prevents the short-circuit current from ever reaching its maximum destructive peak. This significantly reduces thermal and magnetic stress on your cables, bus bars, and breakers, extending the lifespan of your entire electrical system.
- The TR100R is a "rejection style" fuse. When used with a Class R fuse block, the specific grooved end-cap design ensures that only a Class R fuse can be installed. This prevents the accidental insertion of lower-rated, non-current-limiting Class H or K fuses, ensuring your system always maintains its engineered safety level.
