Description
Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TRS25R features a sophisticated dual-element design that provides a minimum 10-second time-delay at 500% of the rated current. This allows the fuse to "ride through" the temporary high-current inrush of motors and transformers, eliminating nuisance blowing while still providing precision protection against sustained overloads.
- As a current-limiting Class RK5 fuse, the TRS25R reacts to short circuits with extreme speed, clearing faults before the current can reach its full destructive peak. This significantly reduces the "let-through" energy ($I^2t$), shielding your contactors, breakers, and bus bars from the thermal and magnetic stress of a fault.
- Boasting a 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC) at 600V AC, this fuse is engineered to safely clear even the most catastrophic short circuits. This industry-leading capacity ensures that the fuse can manage high-energy faults without internal failure, protecting both your personnel and your facility's infrastructure.
- The TRS25R features the Class R rejection-style grooved end-cap. When paired with a Class R fuse block, this physical characteristic prevents the accidental installation of lower-rated, non-current-limiting Class H or K fuses, ensuring your system always maintains its engineered safety and code compliance.
