Features
- The Hubbell 3104MSB is a single-gang device box equipped with a specialized MSB (Metal Stud Bracket). Specifically engineered for the Canadian commercial market, this bracket allows for rapid, secure attachment to steel studs. It features a unique design that supports the box from both the front and side of the stud, preventing the "box-rock" or flexing that can occur with inferior mounting brackets when a user plugs in a heavy industrial cord.
- With a 2-1/2 inch ($64\text{ mm}$) depth and a 16.0 cubic inch internal volume, this box provides the extra space required for modern electrical devices. It is the ideal size for housing large 20A receptacles, GFCI outlets, or smart dimmers, providing plenty of room for wire connectors and pigtails without the risk of pinching or damaging the insulation.
- The 3104MSB features a gangable welded construction. By simply removing a side screw, you can combine multiple boxes together to create a 2-gang, 3-gang, or larger configuration on-site. This flexibility allows Canadian electrical contractors to carry a single part number that can adapt to any wall configuration, significantly simplifying inventory management for large-scale projects.
- Designed primarily for conduit wiring systems, the box includes versatile knockout options: two 1/2" knockouts on the bottom and two 1/2" & 3/4" combination (concentric) knockouts on the ends. This allows for easy integration with both standard EMT and larger conduit runs, ensuring a secure and code-compliant mechanical connection for professional commercial installations.
