Features
- The Bussmann GMD-2-R is a standard 5 x 20mm glass tube fuse. This metric size is used extensively in European and Asian-designed appliances, power supplies, and control boards found in Canadian laboratories and offices. The "R" in the part number denotes that it is RoHS compliant (lead-free).
- This fuse is rated for 2 Amps at 250V AC. It is a Time-Delay (Slow-Blow) fuse, meaning it is designed to withstand short-duration current surges—like those caused by a motor starting or a capacitor charging—without blowing. This prevents "nuisance trips" in devices that have an initial power spike when turned on.
- The clear glass body allows for a quick visual check of the internal filament. Unlike ceramic fuses, you can instantly see if the wire inside has melted or if there is dark "splatter" inside the tube, which indicates a high-energy short circuit. This makes troubleshooting much faster for maintenance teams.
- As a glass-bodied fuse, the GMD series has a Low Breaking Capacity. It is rated to safely interrupt 35A at 250V or 10,000A at 125V.
