• The SQWP141002WH is a 2-gang screwless decorator wall plate from the Square D X Series. It is designed to house two side-by-side devices (like two switches, or a switch and an outlet) while hiding the mounting screws behind a snap-on cover. This creates a high-end, architectural look that is significantly cleaner than traditional "exposed screw" plates.
• This plate features a Matte White finish. Unlike high-gloss plastic, the matte surface is fingerprint-resistant and diffuses light for a premium, soft-touch appearance. It is part of the unified X Series aesthetic, ensuring a perfect color match when paired with other white X Series switches, dimmers, or receptacles.
• The X Series wall plate consists of two parts: The Sub-Plate: This piece screws directly onto the electrical devices. The Cover Plate: This piece snaps firmly onto the sub-plate, concealing all hardware. This design allows the plate to "float" slightly, helping it sit flush against the wall even if the electrical box is slightly recessed or the wall is uneven.
• The cover plate features a discrete release button (typically at the bottom). Pressing this button allows you to pop the cover off without prying it with a screwdriver, protecting your wall paint and the plate itself from scratches or damage during renovations.
• Manufactured from high-strength polycarbonate, this plate is built to be rugged. Polycarbonate is much more durable than standard "nylon" or "thermoset" plates and won't crack if the mounting screws are tightened firmly. The matte surface is "easy-to-clean" with just a damp cloth.
