Features
- The Schneider Electric Square D SQR51101WH is a high-performance 15-Amp, 125V GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) Receptacle. Part of the modern X Series, it is designed to protect people from electrical shock by quickly interrupting power if a ground fault is detected. It is an essential safety requirement for "wet" areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and garages in Canadian residential and commercial buildings.
- This model features Tamper-Resistant (TR) shutters. These discrete internal shutters block the insertion of foreign objects (like keys or paperclips) into the slots, while still allowing for easy insertion of standard electrical plugs. This is a mandatory safety feature for new residential constructions and renovations under the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) to protect children.
- This device includes an auto-monitoring (self-test) feature that automatically conducts an internal test every 90 minutes. If the device detects a problem and can no longer provide ground fault protection, a red indicator light will flash or glow, signaling that the unit has reached its "end of life" and must be replaced ensuring your safety is never left to chance.
- The SQR51101WH supports feed-through wiring. This allows a single GFCI to provide downstream protection to standard "non-GFCI" outlets on the same circuit. Additionally, it features back-wire clamps and a self-grounding brass clip, which significantly speeds up installation for Canadian electricians and DIYers by ensuring a secure, reliable connection with minimal effort.
