Description
TeSys U control and diagnostic unit to be inserted in advanced power bases LUB120, LUB320, LUB380 to form a TeSys U starter controller, for 3-phase motor applications up to 0.25kW@400V. It provides full protection to motors with a rated current Ir 0.35-1.4A (Ir adjustable), overload tripping class 10, short circuit at 13 x Irmax, overcurrent at 14.2 x Ir, phase loss, insulation fault (protection of equipment only). It provides a thermal overload alarm to be used locally using a LUFDA module or remotely using a LULC module, and a test push button for overload simulation. To be used with a 24V DC voltage for the control of the starter (through the control terminals A1/A2 located in the power base). Certified when used in conjunction with a LUB power base (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, Marine).
Features
- Featuring a highly precise current adjustment dial ranging from 0.35A to 1.4A, this advanced control unit is custom-engineered for 3-phase fractional horsepower motors up to 0.25 kW at 400V. This wide adjustment range allows industrial technicians to fine-tune thermal settings exactly to the motor s specific nameplate FLA (Full Load Amps), preventing nuisance trips while safeguarding low-current machinery from overheating.
- Designed as an direct plug-and-play component, this control unit seamlessly slides into the front face of standard TeSys Ultra modular power bases, including the LUB120, LUB320, and LUB380 series. The front-mount clip design eliminates the need for complex rewiring or backpanel drilling, allowing automated system builders to complete swap-outs or system retrofits in seconds.
- Engineered to operate on a 24V DC control circuit voltage (with functional operation guaranteed between 20V to 27V DC), this module integrates smoothly with modern industrial PLC outputs and standardized low-voltage DC power supplies. Utilizing standard low-voltage DC control increases control cabinet safety while mitigating electrical noise and inductive feedback on system communication networks.
- This multi-functional control unit features built-in diagnostics that defend against earth faults, phase failure, phase imbalance, short circuits (tripping at 13 x Irmax), and overcurrent. By instantly tripping the circuit breaker before electrical faults propagate, it ensures total equipment protection and isolates localized issues to reduce plant-wide downtime.
