Description
Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The TRS15R is a 15-Amp, 600V AC/DC Tri-Onic® time-delay fuse. As a Class RK5 fuse, it provides high-quality protection for general-purpose circuits. It features a "rejection" notch in the ferrule that allows it to fit into Class R fuse clips (preventing the installation of older, non-current-limiting Class H fuses), but it can also be used in standard non-rejection clips.
- This fuse is engineered with time-delay (slow-blow) characteristics, specifically designed to handle the temporary high-current inrush of motors and transformers. It allows these surges to pass without "nuisance tripping" while still providing extremely fast response times to protect against damaging short circuits.
- The TRS15R is a current-limiting fuse. In the event of a major fault, it reacts in less than half a cycle, significantly reducing the "peak let-through" current. With a massive 200,000 Amp interrupting rating, it minimizes the mechanical and thermal stress on downstream equipment and helps lower the risk of arc flash.
- Mersen builds the Tri-Onic series with a high-grade fiberglass body and bronze caps with tin plating. This construction ensures that the fuse remains dimensionally stable in high-heat industrial environments and maintains excellent conductivity over a long service life, even in high-humidity or mildly corrosive atmospheres.
- The TRS15R is UL Listed and CSA Certified. It is a versatile choice for motor branch circuits, control power transformers, and general feeder protection. Because it is rated for both 600V AC and 600V DC, it is also an excellent solution for solar/photovoltaic systems and DC industrial drives.
