Description
Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The TRS30R is a 30-Amp, 600V AC/DC Tri-Onic® time-delay fuse. As a Class RK5 current-limiting fuse, it features a specialized "rejection" notch on the ferrule. This notch ensures it can only be replaced by another current-limiting fuse in a Class R fuse block, preventing someone from accidentally installing an inferior, non-current-limiting Class H fuse.
- This fuse is engineered specifically for motor and transformer circuits that experience high "inrush" currents during startup. The time-delay (slow-blow) feature allows the TRS30R to handle these temporary surges without blowing, while still providing rapid protection against sustained overloads and high-energy short circuits.
- In the event of a catastrophic electrical fault, the TRS30R reacts in less than half a cycle (<0.008 seconds). With a 200,000 Amp interrupting rating, it drastically limits the "peak let-through" current, protecting sensitive downstream components like motor starters and contactors from being destroyed by the massive thermal and mechanical forces of a short circuit.
- Constructed with a high-grade fiberglass body and bronze caps with tin plating, the TRS30R is built for dimensional stability. Unlike cheaper fiber-body fuses, it will not become brittle or carbonize over time, making it ideal for the high-temperature environments found in industrial control panels, rooftop HVAC units, and heavy-duty machinery.
- It is rated for both 600V AC and 600V DC, the TRS30R is a highly versatile safety component. It is a preferred choice for DC industrial drives, solar/photovoltaic array combiners, and battery storage systems, providing reliable 30-Amp protection across a wide range of power applications.
