Description

TeSys U standard power base, 3 poles (3NO), 12A/690V, to be completed with a control unit LUC to form a TeSys U starter controller, for 3-phase motor applications up to 5.5kW@400V. Base composed of power contacts, rotary handle, with a modular design for additional modules to form a "all in one" starter controller with basic or advanced protection and control functions. It is equipped with a control terminal block, and blanking shutters covering the empty cavities. It provides a high breaking capacity Icu 50kA@400V, start-stop control guaranteed for 3600 cycles/hour. Very compact (45mm width), DIN-rail mounting and screw fixing, with a padlockable rotary handle. Certified when used in conjunction with a LUC control unit (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, Marine).

Features

  • The Schneider Electric LUB12 is the foundational "power base" for the TeSys Ultra (TeSys U) modular motor starter system. It is a revolutionary design that combines the functions of a motor circuit breaker, a contactor, and an overload relay into a single, compact unit. This "all-in-one" approach allows Canadian panel builders to reduce wiring time by up to 40% and save significant space on the DIN rail.
  • The LUB12 is rated for up to 12 Amps. In a typical Canadian industrial environment, this power base can handle a 3-phase motor up to approximately 10 HP at 600V or 3 HP at 230V. It provides the high-performance switching and short-circuit protection required for conveyors, fans, and pumps.
  • The LUB12 is a "naked" base and requires a Plug-in Control Unit (like the LUCB12BL) to function. The control unit determines the protection parameters (amperage range, class 10/20 trip) and the coil voltage. This modularity means you can change the motor size or control voltage (e.g., from 24V DC to 120V AC) just by swapping the top module, without re-wiring the power connections.
  • Despite its small footprint, the LUB12 offers a high breaking capacity of 50kA at 400/415V. It is engineered to safely interrupt massive electrical faults, ensuring that both the motor and the upstream electrical infrastructure are protected. This makes it suitable for heavy industrial sites across Canada with high available fault currents.
  • The LUB12 base comes standard with 1 Normally Open (NO) and 1 Normally Closed (NC) auxiliary contact. These are used to provide "Run" and "Fault" feedback to a PLC or a control pilot light, allowing for easy monitoring of the motor's status without needing to add extra contact blocks.
