- The Mersen GGC10 is a 10-Amp, 250V fast-acting miniature glass fuse. In the world of electrical protection, "fast-acting" means the fuse is designed to blow almost immediately upon reaching an overcurrent state. This is critical for protecting sensitive electronic components—such as power supplies, control boards, and small appliances—that cannot withstand even a brief surge of excess current.
- The GGC10 adheres to the standard North American miniature fuse size of 1/4 inch in diameter by 1-1/4 inch in length (6.3 mm times 32 mm). This universal form factor ensures it fits into a vast array of panel-mount fuse holders, inline fuse clips, and PCB-mounted blocks commonly found in Canadian commercial and residential equipment.
- Rated for up to 250V AC, the GGC10 is highly versatile. It can be used safely in standard 120V household circuits as well as 240V commercial electronic systems. Its interrupting rating is optimized for different voltages: it can safely clear 200 Amps at 250V AC and up to 10,000 Amps (10kA) at 125V AC, making it a robust choice for protecting branch-level electronics.
- The transparent glass body is one of the GGC10's most practical features. It allows a maintenance technician or homeowner to visually inspect the internal filament. If the fuse is blown, the break in the wire (or a dark smudge on the glass) is usually visible, allowing for quick troubleshooting without needing a multimeter.
- The fuse features high-quality nickel-plated brass end caps (ferrules). The nickel plating prevents oxidation and corrosion, ensuring a low-resistance electrical connection over the long term.
