Description
Mersen’s innovative Modulostar CUSCC fuse holders are finger-safe under IEC standards to an IP20 grade of protection, including fuse changing (with the flick of a finger). Modulostar CUSCC fuse holders are available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 poles, with or without visual blown fuse indicator, in UL + IEC version. Multi-pole units can also be field assembled by ordering pin-ties assembly kit. Made of tough and durable thermoplastic or thermoset material. Recommended for use with Mersen Class CC fuse-links: ATDR, ATMR, and ATQR.
Features
- The H1062791 is the global item number for the Mersen A70QS125-4 fuse. It is a 125-Amp, 700V AC/DC high-speed (rectifier) fuse from the Amp-Trap® series. These fuses are specifically designed to protect sensitive solid-state power semiconductor devices such as diodes, thyristors, and MOSFETs.
- With a high voltage rating of 700V for both alternating and direct current, this fuse is a staple in Canadian industrial automation. You will typically find it protecting: VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives): Protecting the internal power electronics from catastrophic failure. UPS Systems: Large battery backup units for data centers. DC Drives & Converters: Used in heavy industrial motor control. Traction Power: In light rail or mining equipment.
- Standard fuses are too slow to protect semiconductors; by the time a standard fuse blows, the silicon in the transistor has already melted. The A70QS125-4 has an extremely low "let-through" energy ($I^2t$). It reacts in milliseconds to clear a fault, sacrificing itself to save expensive electronic components.
- It features a massive 200,000 Amp (200kA) interrupting rating at 700V AC. This ensures that even if a direct short circuit occurs across a high-capacity industrial bus bar, the fuse can safely quench the arc.
