Description
Schneider Electric's Square D general duty safety switches are designed for residential and light commercial applications where durability and economy are prime considerations. Typical loads include lighting, air conditioning, and appliances. General duty safety switches feature a quick make, quick break operating mechanism. This single throw safety switch is a fusible disconnect and has a rated current of 100A for 120/240VAC. This general duty switch has a 3 wire configuration with 2 poles and a factory installed bonded neutral. The device accepts cartridge fuse types. The enclosure is surface mounted and is a Type 3R galvannealed steel with bolt on provisions. This switch complies with CSA C22.2.

- Engineered with a rugged, corrosion-resistant galvannealed steel chassis and a NEMA 3R weather rating, this enclosure is purpose-built to withstand severe rain, sleet, and external ice formation. It provides ultimate outdoor protection for commercial air conditioning units, heat pumps, and outdoor agricultural equipment, preventing moisture entry and tracking failures.
- Shipped with a built-in solid neutral assembly, this 3-wire, 2-pole safety switch eliminates the hassle and extra cost of sourcing separate neutral kits in the field. This integrated configuration allows residential and commercial electricians to safely use the unit as service entrance equipment right out of the box, drastically reducing installation steps.
- Built to accommodate standard cartridge fuses, this fusible switch can achieve a high Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of up to 100,000 Amps when paired with Class R fuses and rejection kits. This exceptional current-limiting capacity ensures that unpredictable, high-energy faults are safely cleared inside the disconnect, preventing catastrophic upstream component failure and fire hazards.
- Outfitted with robust, versatile mechanical lugs, the terminal block easily accepts solid or stranded wire sizes ranging from 14 AWG to 10 AWG for copper, and 12 AWG to 1/0 AWG for aluminum cables. This flexible connection interface eliminates the need for specialized pin adapters or reducing sleeves, ensuring a secure, low-resistance termination that handles a maximum of 30 HP at 240V AC.
