Description
Amp-Trap 2000 time-delay ATDR small-dimension fuses provide IEC Type 2 "no damage" protection to your facility's increasingly sensitive branch circuit components and small motors - minimizing the risk of fault-related damage. ATDR Class CC fuses deliver the best time-delay characteristics in their class with excellent cycling ability for small motor loads.
Features
- The ATDR12 is a 12-Amp, 600V AC Class CC time-delay fuse. Part of the Amp-Trap 2000® family, it is specifically engineered to provide "Type 2" (No-Damage) protection for small motor branch circuits and control transformers. It is one of the most common fuses found in Canadian industrial automation panels.
- The "R" in ATDR stands for its superior time-delay characteristics. It is designed to "ride through" the high inrush currents (up to 10 times the rated current) typical of small motors and control transformers starting up. This prevents nuisance tripping while still providing precise protection against sustained overloads.
- Despite its small physical size, the ATDR12 has a massive 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC). It is highly current-limiting, meaning it clears a short circuit in less than half a cycle (under 0.008 seconds), cutting off destructive energy before it can damage delicate contactors or PLCs.
- As a Class CC fuse, it features a unique rejection tip on the end. This physical design ensures it can only be inserted into Class CC fuse holders. This safety feature prevents maintenance staff from accidentally replacing it with a standard "midget" fuse that lacks the same high-interrupting and current-limiting capabilities
- Class CC fuses are roughly the size of your thumb (1.5" times 0.41"). This compact design allows Canadian engineers to save significant space on the DIN rail in control cabinets compared to using larger Class J or Class R fuses for smaller loads.
