Description
Tri-Onic TR-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TR-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TR60R is a 60-Amp, 250V AC Class RK5 dual-element fuse. It is a fundamental safety component in Canadian electrical systems, designed to provide "Type 2" No-Damage protection for both service entrance equipment and individual motor branch circuits.
- This fuse features a true time-delay characteristic, providing a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of its rated current. This allows it to "ride through" the temporary high-current inrush of 250V motors and transformers, eliminating annoying nuisance blowing while still reacting quickly to dangerous sustained overloads.
- With a 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC), the TR60R can safely clear massive short-circuit currents. This ensures that even under catastrophic fault conditions, the fuse will contain the energy and protect your facility's infrastructure and personnel from arc-flash damage.
- As a current-limiting fuse, the TR60R is designed to clear a short circuit in less than half a cycle. By cutting off the fault current before it reaches its full peak, it significantly reduces the thermal and magnetic "let-through" energy (I^2t), protecting your breakers, contactors, and wire insulation from permanent damage.
- The TR60R features a unique "rejection" grooved end-cap. When used with a Class R fuse block, this physical feature prevents the accidental installation of lower-rated, non-current-limiting Class H or K fuses. This ensures that the high level of safety engineered into your Canadian industrial or commercial system cannot be compromised during routine maintenance.
