Description
Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TRS60R is a 60-Amp, 600V AC Class RK5 fuse designed for heavy-duty industrial and commercial power distribution. As part of the Tri-Onic® family, it provides a versatile "all-in-one" protection solution, featuring a time-delay characteristic that handles high-inrush currents while offering high-speed current limitation for sensitive circuits.
- Engineered with a specialized time-delay (slow-blow) design, the TRS60R can withstand the intense momentary current spikes produced when large motors or transformers first power up. This eliminates unnecessary downtime caused by "nuisance trips," allowing your equipment to reach operating speed while still providing critical protection against sustained thermal overloads.
- The TRS60R is a highly current-limiting fuse. In the event of a short circuit, it clears the fault in less than half a cycle, physically restricting the amount of peak "let-through" energy. This protects your contactors, relays, and wiring from the destructive magnetic and thermal forces of a fault, significantly extending the lifespan of your electrical system.
- The "R" in TRS60R indicates it is a Rejection-style fuse. It features a unique notched end-cap that, when used with an R-series fuse clip, prevents the accidental installation of non-rejection fuses with lower interrupting ratings. This physical safeguard ensures that your system always maintains its high-level safety rating and prevents the use of improper, potentially dangerous replacements.
- Despite its standard 60-Amp rating, the TRS60R boasts a massive 200,000 Amp interrupting rating (AIC). This ensures it can safely and quietly clear even the most severe catastrophic short circuits in modern high-capacity industrial panels, preventing explosive failures and protecting nearby personnel.
