Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TRS40R is a 40-Amp, 600V AC Class RK5 time-delay fuse. Part of the popular Tri-Onic® series, it is an industrial-standard "current-limiting" fuse designed to provide high-performance overcurrent protection for motors, transformers, and feeder circuits.
- Engineered with a dual-element design, the TRS40R provides a time-delay characteristic that allows it to carry harmless temporary surges—such as the high inrush current seen when a motor or transformer starts up—without blowing. This eliminates "nuisance tripping" while still providing fast-acting protection against dangerous short circuits.
- The "R" in TRS40R denotes a rejection-style design. When used with a Class R fuse block, the rejection feature prevents the installation of lower-rated Class H or K fuses, which have the same physical dimensions but significantly lower interrupting ratings. This ensures your system always maintains its intended level of safety and fault-clearing capability.
- The TRS40R is rated for an impressive 200,000 Amps (200kA) interrupting rating at 600V AC. This means it can safely clear massive short-circuit faults without the risk of an explosion, making it suitable for use in heavy industrial facilities and service entrance equipment where high fault currents are possible.
- In addition to its 600V AC rating, the TRS40R is officially rated for 300V DC (20kA I.R.). This makes it a versatile choice for a wide range of industrial applications, including battery backup systems, DC motor drives, and solar power equipment where 600V AC and 300V DC ratings are often required side-by-side.
