- The XPSUAK32AP is a high-performance universal safety monitoring module belonging to the Harmony Safety Automation (formerly Preventa) family. It serves as a centralized evaluation node engineered to monitor emergency stop pushbuttons, interlocking guard switches, magnetic or RFID safety switches, safety light curtains, sensing mats, and proximity sensors. This versatility makes it a core component for risk-reduction architectures in high-throughput packaging, material handling, and automotive assembly grids.
- This module is engineered for maximum critical hazard mitigation, achieving up to Performance Level e (PL e), Category 4 compliance under ISO 13849-1, and Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3) under IEC 61508 and IEC 62061 standard regimes. It incorporates an advanced internal dual-channel monitoring structure that performs continuous cross-monitoring and dynamization pulses, allowing it to detect internal electronic component failures, wire short-circuits, and cross-faults across safety input lines instantly.
- Equipped with a wide-range, universal internal power transformer, the module operates smoothly on any control line tracking from 48V to 240V AC or DC at 50/60 Hz frequencies. It handles a peak power consumption profile of 6.5 VA on alternating current or 3.0 Watts on direct current buses. The module features two independent safety inputs (24V DC, 5 mA), three on/off configurable pulsed test outputs designed to monitor circuit continuity, and a dedicated semiconductor pulsed diagnostic output (Z1) that pushes real-time status data to standard PLC input registers without requiring fieldbus cards.
- The safety-related switching outputs are configured as an isolated 2 Normally Open (2 NO) safety circuit combined with 1 Normally Closed (1 NC) auxiliary diagnostic contact loop. The main NO contacts are rated for heavy-duty pilot loops, handling up to 5 Amps under resistive DC-1 or AC-1 parameters and 3 Amps under inductive AC-15 or DC-13 control configurations.
- The front panel houses specialized rotary selectors protected under a sealable, transparent plastic cover. Maintenance technicians can turn these dials to select predefined safety application functions, input synchronization times (ranging from 0.5 to 4 seconds), and start profiles. The startup path can be wired for automatic execution, standard manual resetting, or monitored start logic, requiring a transitional pulse from a start button to verify that a contact has not welded shut before re-energizing the main safety loop.
- Boasting an ultra-slimline 22.5 mm width profile, the module mounts onto standard 35 mm symmetrical DIN rails, occupying a height of 100 mm and a depth of 120 mm.
