Description
QO and QOB one, two and three pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection and switching on ac and dc systems. These circuit breakers have an over center, trip free toggle mechanism with quick make, quick break action and positive handle indication. They also have VisiTrip trip indication, which provides a visual indication that the circuit breaker has tripped and interrupted the circuit. This 2 pole QO circuit breaker is rated at 15A at 120/240VAC. This unit provides 10kA breaking capacity and bolt on mounting. A full line of features and factory installed accessories are also available such as shunt trips, auxiliary switches and alarm switches. QO circuit breakers are UL Listed under UL File E84967 and are CSA Certified under CSA Master Contract 153555. Features
- The Schneider Electric (Square D) QOB215 is a 15-Amp, 2-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. The "B" in the part number signifies "Bolt-on." While it looks almost identical to a standard QO breaker, it features a mounting screw that physically bolts the breaker to the panel's bus bar. This design is the standard for Canadian commercial and industrial panelboards (like the NQ series), where a permanent, vibration-resistant connection is required.
- Rated for 15 Amps at 120/240V AC, this 2-pole breaker is designed to protect dedicated 240V loads or 208V single-phase loads. In a Canadian commercial setting, you’ll typically find the QOB215 protecting small HVAC units, baseboard heaters, or specialized industrial equipment that requires two hot legs of power.
- Like all premium Square D breakers, the QOB215 features the Visi-Trip™ indicator. When the breaker trips, a high-visibility red flag appears in a window on the face of the breaker. This allows a building manager or electrician to scan a panelboard containing dozens of breakers and instantly identify which circuit has faulted, significantly reducing downtime.
- The QOB215 has a standard 10kA (10,000 AIR) interrupting rating. This ensures the breaker can safely clear a short circuit without catastrophic failure. For environments with higher available fault currents, there are "high-interrupt" versions (QOB215VH), but the standard 10kA model is the workhorse for the majority of Canadian commercial installations.
- The internal mechanism is designed for a fast "snap" action during both manual operation and automatic tripping. This Quick-Make, Quick-Break design minimizes internal arcing, which preserves the life of the contacts and ensures the breaker performs reliably for decades, even in high-demand Canadian industrial environments.
