Description
QO and QOB one, two and three pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection and switching on ac and dc systems. These circuit breakers have an over center, trip-free toggle mechanism with quick-make, quick break action and positive handle indication. They also have VisiTrip trip indication, which provides a visual indication that the circuit breaker has tripped and interrupted the circuit. This QO miniature breaker is rated as 2 A, 12/24 V, and 2 poles. This unit provides 1 kA breaking capacity and plug-on mounting. A full line of factory installed accessories is also available such auxiliary switches, alarm switches, and shunt trips. This unit is compatible with plug-on neutral system. QO breakers use a compact 3/4 inch width design for small system footprint. QO circuit breakers are UL Listed under UL File E84967 and are CSA Certified under CSA Master Contract 153555
Features
- The QO230 is a premium 2-pole, 30-Amp Miniature Circuit Breaker designed for Square D QO load centers. It provides simultaneous overcurrent protection for both "hot" legs of a 240V circuit, making it the industry standard for protecting residential and commercial equipment like electric water heaters, small central air units, and 240V workshop machinery.
- Like all premium QO breakers, the QO220 features the patented Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips due to a short circuit or overload, a highly visible red flag appears in the window. This allows you to identify a fault at a glance without having to test the handle tension, which is especially helpful in poorly lit basements or mechanical rooms.
- This breaker is engineered exclusively for Square D QO "Blue Label" load centers, NQ panelboards, and switchboards. It uses a 1.5-inch wide (two 3/4-inch spaces) plug-on design. Note: It is not compatible with Square D Homeline, Eaton, Siemens, or GE panels. Always verify your panel type to ensure a safe, high-integrity electrical connection.
- The QO220 is built with an internal common-trip mechanism. If a fault occurs on either of the two poles, both poles trip at exactly the same time. This prevents "single-phasing"—a dangerous condition where a 240V motor continues to run on only one leg of power, which can lead to overheating, motor burnout, or electrical fires.
- The Square D QO220 is UL Listed and CSA Certified with a 10,000 AIR (Amperes Interrupting Rating). It features high-quality pressure plate terminals that provide a secure, gas-tight connection for copper or aluminum conductors (#14 to #8 AWG), ensuring long-term reliability and full NEC/CEC compliance for your electrical infrastructure.
