Description
QO and QOB one, two and three pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection and switching on ac and dc systems. These circuit breakers have an over center, trip free toggle mechanism with quick make, quick break action and positive handle indication. They also have VisiTrip trip indication, which provides a visual indication that the circuit breaker has tripped and interrupted the circuit. This 2 pole QO circuit breaker is rated at 30A at 120/240VAC. This unit provides 10kA breaking capacity and bolt on mounting. A full line of features and factory installed accessories are also available such as shunt trips, auxiliary switches and alarm switches. QO circuit breakers are UL Listed under UL File E84967 and are CSA Certified under CSA Master Contract 153555. Features
- The Schneider QOB230 is a "Bolt-On" circuit breaker. Unlike the "Plug-On" QO version used in residential panels, the QOB features a rugged metal tab with a screw-hole. It is designed to be physically bolted to the bus bar of a Square D NQ or NQOD panelboard. This creates a high-integrity, vibration-resistant connection required for Canadian commercial and industrial environments.
- This is a 2-Pole, 30-Amp breaker, meaning it occupies two spaces in your panel to provide 240V power. In a Canadian setting, it is the standard choice for protecting circuits like: Residential/Light Commercial Water Heaters , Central Air Conditioning Units , Electric Baseboard Heaters , Small Workshop Machinery
- The QOB230 includes the signature Square D Visi-Trip™ indicator. When the breaker trips due to an overload or short circuit, a highly visible red flag snaps into view in the handle window. This allows maintenance staff or electricians to identify the faulty circuit at a glance, even in a crowded panelboard.
- It is engineered with a high-speed internal switching mechanism that snaps the contacts open or closed faster than a human hand can move the handle. This "Quick-Make/Quick-Break" design minimizes internal arcing and contact wear, which is essential for maintaining the long-term reliability of your electrical distribution system.
- Standard QOB230 breakers carry a 10,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIR) at 120/240V AC. This rating ensures the breaker can safely clear a short circuit without catastrophic failure, protecting both your facility’s equipment and the upstream electrical infrastructure.
