Features
- The QO130 is a 30-Amp, single-pole, plug-on circuit breaker. Part of the legendary Square D QO (Quick-Open) family, it is arguably the most recognizable and trusted breaker in the Canadian electrical industry. It is designed for use in QO load centres, NQ panelboards, and switchboard distribution panels.
- A 30-Amp single-pole breaker is typically used for heavy-duty 120V circuits. In a Canadian home or business, it is commonly found powering: Large RV Receptacles: (30A 120V travel trailer plugs). High-Power Appliances: Such as some commercial microwaves or industrial heat sealers. Dedicated Equipment: Small 120V motors or specialized workshop machinery. Wiring Note: Under the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), a 30A circuit generally requires #10 AWG copper wire. Using thinner #12 or #14 wire with this breaker is a fire hazard and a code violation.
- The QO130 features the patented Visi-TripTM indicator. When the breaker trips, a highly visible red flag snaps into a window on the face of the breaker. This allows homeowners and maintenance staff to identify the faulted circuit instantly, without having to guess which handle moved slightly out of place.
- The standard QO130 features a plug-on connection. It snaps directly onto the bus bar of the panel without the need for mounting screws. The QO "dual-spring" jaw design ensures a high-pressure, low-resistance connection that remains tight for decades, even as the metal expands and contracts with temperature changes.
