- This Schneider Electric Modicon TM3 expansion module delivers 8 high-resolution analog inputs in a compact, snap-on form factor, allowing you to instantly scale up your automated system. It connects directly via a rugged, built-in bus extension connector to Modicon M221, M241, M251, and M262 logic controllers, completely eliminating the need for complex field bus configurations or external communications hardware.
- Designed for maximum field flexibility, each of the 8 inputs can be individually configured via software to accept standard industrial signals including 0-10 V, -10 to +10 V voltage loops, and 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA current loops. This wide signal compatibility allows process control engineers to mix and match pressure transmitters, flow meters, and level sensors on a single module, drastically reducing spare parts inventory and hardware costs.
- Featuring a high-performance 11-bit plus sign (or 12-bit) analog-to-digital converter, this module converts incoming process signals into precise digital data with a resolution of up to 2.44 mV for voltage and 4.88 A for current loops. Combined with a lightning-fast hardware conversion time of just 1 ms per channel, it delivers the real-time, high-accuracy data required for demanding PID loops and sensitive process regulation.
- Engineered to withstand harsh, electrically noisy factory environments, this module features robust photovoltaic and galvanic isolation rated up to 1500 V AC between the input channels and internal logic, and 500 V AC between inputs and the power supply. This exceptional shielding prevents ground loops and eliminates high-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring stable, jitter-free sensor readings even when routed next to high-power variable speed drives (VSDs).
