- The Bussmann FNQ-R-2-1/2 (2.5 Amp) is a Class CC Limitron™ fuse, engineered for high-performance "Branch Circuit" protection. It is a current-limiting device, meaning it reacts within milliseconds to "clamp" a short circuit before the energy can reach its full destructive peak. This is critical for meeting Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requirements for protecting sensitive control transformers and automation components.
- As a Class CC fuse, the FNQ-R-2-1/2 features a specialized physical rejection tip. This ensures it can only be installed in a dedicated Class CC fuse holder (like the Bussmann CHCC series), preventing the accidental installation of standard "midget" fuses that lack the high interrupting rating and current-limiting capabilities required by code.
- Featuring Time-Delay characteristics, this 2.5-Amp fuse is specifically optimized to handle the massive momentary current surges (inrush) common when powering up control transformers. It provides a minimum 12-second delay at 200% of its rated current, allowing equipment to start without "nuisance blowing" while still offering rapid response to dangerous faults.
