Features
- The Bussmann LP-CC-20 is a Class CC Low-Peak™ fuse, widely considered the gold standard for branch circuit protection. As a current-limiting fuse, it is designed to react in less than 0.008 seconds during a short circuit, "clamping" the electrical energy before it reaches its destructive peak. This superior protection is essential for preventing the welding of contacts in motor starters and protecting sensitive PLCs in Canadian industrial panels.
- Equipped with dual-element, time-delay technology, this 20-Amp fuse is specifically optimized to handle the momentary current spikes associated with larger control transformers and small motor starts. It provides a minimum 12-second delay at 200% of its rated current, allowing equipment to power up without "nuisance blowing" while still providing rapid response to dangerous overloads.
- As a Class CC fuse, the LP-CC-20 features a specialized physical rejection tip. This safety feature ensures it can only be installed in a dedicated Class CC fuse holder (like the CHCC series), preventing the accidental installation of standard "midget" fuses that lack the high interrupting rating and branch-circuit certification required by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
- The LP-CC-20 is fully rated for 600V AC and features a massive 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIR). This ultra-high fault capacity allows it to be used safely in virtually any industrial environment in Canada, even when installed very close to the service entrance where available fault currents are at their highest.
- The Class CC size (13/32" x 1-1/2") is the smallest branch-circuit rated fuse available. By providing the same level of protection as much larger Class J fuses in a compact package, it allows Canadian panel builders to significantly reduce the size and cost of their control enclosures without sacrificing safety or performance.
