Features
- the Bussmann LPJ-200SP is a heavy-duty Class J Low-Peak™ fuse designed for high-capacity branch circuit protection. Its current-limiting engineering reacts in less than 0.008 seconds during a fault, "clamping" short-circuit energy before it can reach its destructive peak. This is essential for protecting sensitive power electronics and increasing the Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of large Canadian industrial service entrances.
- Featuring advanced dual-element, time-delay technology, this 200-Amp fuse provides a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of its rated current. This allows the fuse to ignore the high-amperage inrush currents associated with large 3-phase motors and power distribution transformers, preventing costly "nuisance blowing" in facilities like mills, mines, and large-scale manufacturing plants.
- Following standard Bussmann nomenclature, the LPJ-200SP is the non-indicating version. For a visual window that glows when the fuse has cleared, you would require the LPJ-200SPI model. This non-indicating version is often preferred in heavy industrial settings where visual fuse blocks are already in use or where maximum mechanical vibration resistance is required.
- This fuse is fully rated for 600V AC (and 300V DC) and boasts a massive 300,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIR). This ultra-high fault capacity ensures the fuse can safely quench severe electrical arcs even in locations with very high available fault current, making it fully compliant with the safety requirements of industrial power grids across Canada.
- Unlike smaller Class J fuses that may be "clip-in," the 200-Amp version features blade-style terminals with mounting holes.
