    Description

    TeSys enclosed starters, empty enclosure, for thermal magnetic circuit breakers GV2ME. Surface mounting enclosure with screw fixing, 2 knock-outs for cable glands on top and bottom, sealable cover. Polycarbonate enclosure, double insulated with protective conductor, IP55 protection. To be equipped with a motor circuit breaker GV2ME, and start-emergency stop buttons GV2K (to be ordered separately). Possible mounting of 1 side auxiliary contact blocks GVAD, GVAM, GVAD on both sides of GV2ME (to be ordered separately). It conforms to IEC 60947-2 and IEC 60947-4-1, Green Premium compliant (RoHS/REACh).

    Features

    • The Schneider Electric (TeSys) GV2MC02 is a surface-mount enclosure designed specifically to house GV2ME manual motor starters. While the GV2ME unit provides the electrical protection, this enclosure provides the physical environment, allowing you to mount a motor starter directly to a wall or machine rather than inside a large electrical panel.
    • The defining feature of the GV2MC02 is its IP55 rating. In the Canadian industrial context, this means the enclosure is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is a significant upgrade over the standard GV2MC01 (which is only IP41/NEMA 1), making it suitable for damp warehouses, food processing areas, or dusty workshops.
    • The enclosure is made from high-impact polycarbonate. This material is non-conductive, providing a double-insulated environment that eliminates the need for a separate grounding connection for the box itself (though the motor protector inside still requires proper bonding). It is also highly resistant to chemical agents and UV exposure.
    • The enclosure is designed to be paired with external operators (sold separately) to allow for safe machine control without opening the cover. It can accommodate: GV2K011 / GV2K021: Start/Stop pushbuttons. GV2K04: Mushroom-head emergency stop buttons. This modularity allows a Canadian electrician to build a custom "local" motor starter station tailored to the specific needs of the machine.
