Description
Amp-Trap ATMR fast-acting fuses are the smallest dimension 600V fuses suitable for branch-circuit protection. The ATMR is a popular choice for economical protection of control circuits and control circuit transformers where available short circuit currents exceed 10,000 amperes. ATMR's rejection dimensions prevent substitution by lesser rated fuses. These fast-acting fuses give current-limiting protection to general circuits.
Features
- The Mersen ATMR1 is a 1-Amp, 600V fast-acting fuse from the Amp-Trap® series. As a Class CC fuse, it is the smallest 600V fuse dimensionally that is still approved for branch circuit protection. In Canadian industrial panels, it is the standard choice for protecting sensitive control circuits, lighting, and general loads where space is at a premium.
- Unlike the time-delay ATDR or ATQR series, the ATMR1 is fast-acting. It is designed to open almost instantly upon detecting an overcurrent or short circuit. This makes it ideal for protecting non-inductive loads like control transformers, PLC inputs/outputs, and solid-state relays that cannot withstand even brief surges of high current.
- The ATMR1 features a rejection tip, a small physical nipple on the end of the fuse. This ensures it can only be installed in a Class CC fuse holder (like the Mersen UltraSafe™ USCC). This "safety-first" design prevents a Canadian maintenance worker from accidentally replacing it with a lower-rated or non-rejection "midget" fuse, maintaining the circuit's intended level of protection.
- Despite its small size (13/32" times 1-1/2"), the ATMR1 has a massive 200,000 Amp interrupting rating at 600V AC. This allows it to be used in panels with high available fault currents, ensuring that the fuse will safely clear a catastrophic short circuit without damaging the surrounding control components.
