Description
Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TRS50R is engineered with a dual-element design that provides a minimum 10-second time-delay at 500% of the rated current. This allows the fuse to "ride through" the temporary startup surges of 600V motors and transformers, preventing nuisance trips while still providing sensitive protection against long-term overloads.
- As a Class RK5 current-limiting fuse, the TRS50R reacts to short circuits with extreme speed, clearing faults before the current can reach its full destructive peak. This significantly lowers the "let-through" energy (I^2t), shielding your contactors, breakers, and bus bars from the thermal and magnetic stresses of a major fault.
- Boasting a 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC) at 600V AC, this fuse is built to safely clear even the most catastrophic short circuits. This industry-leading capacity ensures the fuse can manage high-energy faults without internal failure, safeguarding personnel and maintaining the integrity of your facility’s electrical infrastructure.
- The TRS50R features the Class R rejection-style grooved end-cap. When used with a compatible Class R fuse block or disconnect, this physical design prevents the accidental installation of lower-rated, non-current-limiting Class H or K fuses, ensuring your system always maintains its engineered safety level and remains code-compliant.
- Rated for up to 600V AC and 300V DC, the TRS50R is a highly versatile choice for various Canadian industrial applications.
