Description
Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TRS35R is a 35-Amp Class RK5 Tri-Onic® fuse featuring a sophisticated dual-element design. It is engineered to handle the temporary high-current inrush of motors and transformers, providing a minimum 10-second time delay at 500% of its rating. This ensures your machinery starts reliably without the frustration of unnecessary downtime caused by "fast-acting" fuses.
- The "R" designation signifies a rejection-style end cap. This physical safety feature, combined with a Class R fuse holder, prevents the installation of older, non-current-limiting Class H or K fuses. This "fool-proof" system ensures your panel maintains its engineered safety rating and remains compliant with modern Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) standards.
- With a massive 200,000 Amp (200kA) interrupting capacity at 600V AC, the TRS35R can safely clear extreme short-circuit faults without the risk of the fuse body rupturing. This high-tier protection is essential for Canadian industrial facilities, schools, and hospitals where available fault currents can be dangerously high.
- As a current-limiting fuse, the TRS35R reacts in less than half a cycle during a short circuit, "choking" the fault before it can reach its destructive peak. By significantly lowering the "let-through" energy (I^2t), it protects contactors, bus bars, and electronic controllers from the thermal and mechanical stress of an electrical surge.
- While standard for 600V 3-phase industrial power, the TRS35R is also fully rated for 600V DC (with a 100kA interrupting rating). This makes it a versatile choice for protecting DC motor drives, battery backup arrays, and solar power combiners, allowing maintenance teams to consolidate their spare fuse inventory.
