Features
- The Bussmann LPJ-50SP is a premium Class J Low-Peak™ fuse engineered for ultimate circuit protection. Its advanced current-limiting design reacts in less than 0.008 seconds to "clamp" short-circuit energy before it reaches its destructive peak, protecting sensitive downstream components like VFDs and soft starters while helping your system achieve a higher Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR).
- Featuring advanced dual-element, time-delay technology, this 50-Amp fuse provides a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of its rated current. This prevents "nuisance blowing" during the heavy momentary surges common with industrial motor starts and control transformer inrush, ensuring continuous operation for Canadian manufacturing and HVAC systems.
- As per the standard Bussmann catalog, the LPJ-50SP is the non-indicating version of the Low-Peak line (the "SPI" suffix is required for a visual window). This makes it a rugged and cost-effective choice for panels already equipped with indicating fuse blocks or for applications where mechanical durability in high-vibration environments is the priority.
- This fuse is fully rated for 600V AC (and 300V DC) and features a massive 300,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIR). This high fault capacity allows it to be used safely in virtually any industrial or commercial facility across Canada, even when installed directly at the service entrance where available fault currents are at their highest.
- The Class J footprint is significantly more compact than equivalent Class R or Class H fuses. This allows engineers to specify smaller disconnect switches and fuse holders—such as the Bussmann CH60J series—saving valuable interior "real estate" in electrical enclosures and reducing the overall footprint of control cabinets.
