Amp-Trap fast-acting A4J fuses deliver excellent current-limiting protection to a wide variety of applications. Their unique dimensions prevent the substitution of other fuses with lower voltage ratings, interrupting ratings, or current-limiting capability.

- The Mersen Amp-Trap® A4J90 is a highly advanced, current-limiting power fuse engineered to severely minimize peak let-thru current during a short circuit fault. By instantly quenching dangerous overcurrents before they reach maximum baseline thresholds, it provides exceptional components protection for sensitive downstream hardware, lowering the risk of arc flash hazards and keeping your facility safe and OSHA-compliant.
- Rated for 90 Amps at 600VAC (and up to 300VDC), this Class J low-voltage fuse is optimized for demanding feeders, branch circuits, switchboards, and panelboards. The massive 200kA AC / 100kA DC interrupting rating (SCCR) guarantees that even under severe utility faults, the fuse will safely isolate the breakdown without exploding or failing structurally.
- As a specialized fast-acting fuse, the A4J90 provides near-instantaneous opening characteristics under high overload and short-circuit conditions. This rapid response profile makes it the ideal safety mechanism for non-inductive or purely resistive applications—such as lighting circuits, electric heating systems, capacitors, and main load centers—where time-delay overrides could cause severe damage to the load.
- Designed with standard Class J cylindrical body parameters and robust silver-plated copper blade terminals (measuring 1-1/8" in diameter by approximately 4-4/8" in length), this safety element features a native physical rejection design. This unique configuration explicitly prevents lower-rated or incorrect voltage classes from being accidentally substituted into your clip-mount hardware, completely mitigating maintenance liability and field errors.
