Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.

- Engineered with a deliberate time-delay characteristic, the AJT175 handles high inrush currents and temporary surges without nuisance tripping. This ensures that heavy-duty motors and transformers stay online during startup while still providing lightning-fast response to dangerous short circuits.
- Featuring Mersen’s patented SmartSpot technology, this fuse provides a highly visible indicator that turns dark if the fuse has opened. This allows maintenance electricians to identify the exact problem circuit at a glance from a distance, drastically reducing troubleshooting time and minimizing expensive facility downtime.
- The AJT175 is a "Current-Limiting" device, meaning it interrupts fault currents before they reach their full peak magnitude. By significantly reducing the I^2t let-thru energy, it prevents catastrophic damage to sensitive components like contactors and circuit breakers, often allowing for lower-cost "Type 2" coordination.
- Despite its compact Class J dimensions which save valuable panel space, this fuse boasts a massive 200kA Interrupting Rating (AIC). This provides a high level of safety and reliability, ensuring the fuse can safely clear major faults even in high-capacity industrial service entrances.
