Description
Amp-Trap 2000 time-delay ATDR small-dimension fuses provide IEC Type 2 "no damage" protection to your facility's increasingly sensitive branch circuit components and small motors - minimizing the risk of fault-related damage. ATDR Class CC fuses deliver the best time-delay characteristics in their class with excellent cycling ability for small motor loads.
Features
- The ATDR7 is a 7-Amp, 600V AC Class CC time-delay fuse. It is a premium industrial fuse specifically engineered to provide high-performance protection for control transformers, solenoids, and small motor branch circuits. It is the industry standard for "Type 2" (No-Damage) protection in Canadian automation panels.
- Control transformers often experience a massive "inrush" current when first energized. The ATDR7 is designed with a superior time-delay characteristic that allows it to withstand these momentary surges without blowing, while still reacting with extreme precision to sustained overloads that could melt transformer windings.
- Despite being roughly the size of your thumb, the ATDR7 has a massive 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC). This ensures that even if a catastrophic short circuit occurs directly at the transformer or panel mains, the fuse will safely extinguish the arc without rupturing, protecting personnel and the surrounding equipment.
- The ATDR7 is a highly current-limiting fuse. In the event of a short circuit, it clears the fault in less than half a cycle (under 0.008 seconds). By cutting off the energy before it reaches its peak, it significantly reduces the thermal and magnetic "let-through" energy ($I^2t$), which is critical for protecting delicate PLC inputs and contactors.
- The "Class CC" designation includes a unique rejection tip on the end of the fuse. This physical feature ensures it can only be used in Class CC fuse holders. This prevents maintenance staff from accidentally replacing it with a standard "midget" fuse that lacks the same current-limiting and interrupting capabilities, maintaining the safety integrity of the system.
