Features
- The VH361GL is part of the modern VisiPacT series from Square D by Schneider Electric. This next-generation safety switch replaces the legacy H361GL model, offering the same footprint but with enhanced safety features, including a built-in viewing window that allows for quick visual verification of the switch blades without opening the door.
- This is a 3-pole, 3-wire, 30-Amp heavy-duty fused safety switch rated for up to 600V AC/DC. It is designed for demanding industrial and commercial applications, capable of handling motor loads from 5 hp up to 20 hp (depending on voltage) and featuring a short-circuit current rating of up to 200 kA when used with appropriate Class R or J fuses.
- This specific model features a NEMA 1 rated steel enclosure, which is strictly intended for indoor use in environments where dust and moisture are minimal. For outdoor or washdown applications, you would typically look for the "RB" (NEMA 3R) or "SS" (NEMA 4X Stainless) versions of this switch.
- Beyond the viewing window, the VH361GL includes a dual cover interlock that prevents the door from being opened while the switch is "ON" and prevents the switch from being turned "ON" while the door is open. It also features a high-visibility, color-coded red/black handle that can be padlocked in the "OFF" position for secure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- The "GL" suffix in the part number indicates that this unit comes with factory-installed equipment ground lugs. It is designed for a 3-wire configuration, but a solid neutral kit can be field-installed if your application requires it. The lugs accommodate AWG 14 6 copper or AWG 12 6 aluminum conductors.
