Description
The Square D™ by Schneider Electric brand General Duty Safety Switch is designed to be tough, reliable and provide exceptional performance in the most grueling conditions. General Duty Safety Switch are designed for commercial, institutional, industrial & manufacturing facilities. Electrical interlocks for Series F, 60A, fusible, general duty safety switches, are available in kit form for field installation. Each kit contains instructions for proper field mounting. A pivot arm operates from switch mechanism, breaking the control circuit before the main switch blades break. Switches with electrical interlocks installed are UL Listed. For factory-installed electrical interlocks add EI (for one contact) or EI2 (for two contacts) suffix to catalog number. This Electric Interlock Kit s are for safety switches with a UL listed certification and a switch function of SPDT.
Features
- Engineered as a protective control circuit mechanism, this electrical interlock kit triggers a robust 1 NO / 1 NC (SPDT contact configuration) microswitch via an integrated mechanical pivot arm. When an operator pulls the disconnect handle, the pivot arm instantly breaks the low-voltage control circuit loop before the high-voltage main switch blades physically separate. For industrial facility managers and maintenance electricians, this proactive sequencing cuts off power to downstream motor starters and VFDs, ensuring the main line is fully de-energized ahead of time and completely eliminating dangerous under-load arc flash hazards.
- The assembly is purpose-built for seamless drop-in integration with Square D by Schneider Electric Series F general-duty 60 Amp switches, as well as Series F5/F6 heavy-duty safety switches.
- Carrying complete CSA certified safety stamps, this interlock kit satisfies all regulatory safety directives for industrial safety controls across Canada and the United States. Adding this kit to a compatible Square D switch preserves the enclosure's original UL safety listing, streamlining compliance audits for plant safety committees and providing independent municipal electrical inspectors with a straightforward pathway to clear final system validations.
