Description
Type S NEMA motor starters are used for full voltage starting and stopping of AC squirrel cage motors. Type S motor starters have ratings up to 810 amperes. This 3 pole NEMA Size 0 non-reversing starter has an 18 ampere rating. NEMA Size 0 motor starters have 3 phase ratings of 3 HP at 200 and 230 VAC and 5 HP at 460 and 575 VAC. This non-reversing NEMA motor starter has a melting alloy type overload relay that uses Type B thermal units to sense over current conditions. This NEMA starter has a 5 kA maximum SCCR (Short Circuit Current Rating) per UL508A when protected by an appropriate circuit breaker or fuse. Type S motor starters are available with replaceable coils in a wide variety of voltages. This starter has a 24 VAC 60 Hz operating coil wired for separate control. This NEMA starter is an open device without an enclosure. This starter is 6.77 inches tall, 3.50 inches wide and 4.22 inches deep. A wide variety of accessories are available for Type S starters. Type S non-reversing NEMA motor starters are UL listed and CSA certified.

- Featuring a compact, open-type construction measuring 6.77" H x 3.50" W x 4.22" D, this device eliminates unnecessary bulk for space-constrained installations. It is designed to mount directly onto custom sub-panels or within larger existing NEMA-rated enclosures, providing an efficient footprint for multi-starter control assemblies.
- Built with robust screw clamp terminals, this starter provides high-torque wire retention capable of maintaining low contact resistance under heavy vibration. This eliminates the risk of intermittent faults, overheating, or loose connections that frequently plague lower-tier IEC contactors in high-vibration machinery applications.
- Fully UL listed, CSA certified, and NEMA compliant, this Type S starter carries a 5 kA Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) to ensure adherence to strict UL508A electrical codes. The modular chassis design supports field-convertible upgrades, allowing maintenance teams to easily snap on external auxiliary contacts (such as 9999SX6 or 9999SX7) or transient suppression modules to match changing operational requirements.
