• The MD3304X is a 3-pole, 30-Amp non-fused motor disconnect switch from the Square D Pacesetter line. It is designed to provide a local, visible means of disconnecting power to a motor, satisfying NEC and CEC requirements that a "disconnecting means" be located within sight of the motor and the driven machinery.
• This switch is housed in a NEMA 4X non-metallic (polycarbonate) enclosure. It is specifically engineered to be watertight, dust-tight, and highly resistant to corrosion. This makes it the ideal choice for food and beverage processing plants, dairies, and marine environments where high-pressure hosedowns and harsh cleaning chemicals are common.
• While rated for 30 Amps of continuous current, its horsepower (HP) ratings vary by voltage: 2 HP at 120V AC , 5 HP at 240V AC , 10 HP at 480V AC , 15 HP at 600V AC. It is a non-fused device, meaning it provides a physical disconnect but relies on upstream breakers or fuses for overcurrent protection.
• For maximum operator safety, the high-visibility red handle can be padlocked in the "OFF" position, allowing for secure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) during maintenance. The handle is interlocked with the cover, preventing the enclosure from being opened while the switch is in the "ON" position, which protects personnel from accidental contact with live parts.
• The MD3304X features a compact footprint and includes internal grounding terminals. The non-metallic enclosure is easy to drill for conduit entry, and because it is double-insulated, it does not require the enclosure itself to be grounded. It is UL Listed and CSA Certified, ensuring it meets the rigorous safety standards for industrial motor control across North America.
