Description
The MD motor disconnect switch is listed UL 508 Suitable for Motor Control (UL File E164864) and conforms to IEC standard 60947-3. It is in a compact NEMA 4X enclosure suitable for use in NEMA 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 applications. This three pole 60 A motor disconnect switch has a 20 HP rating at 240 VAC, a 40 HP rating at 480 VAC and a 40 HP rating at 6000VAC. The red handle interlock prevents the removal of the cover when the switch is in the ON position. This MD motor disconnect switch has an extremely small footprint. It is 6.38 inches tall, 3.9 inches wide and 4.37 deep. Switch is UL listed and CSA certified.

- The Schneider Square D MD3604X is a 60-Amp, 3-pole non-fusible motor disconnect switch. It is designed to provide a local, visible means of disconnecting power to a motor, allowing for safe maintenance or emergency shutdown. It is frequently used in industrial automation, HVAC systems, and food processing environments where machinery must be isolated from its power source quickly.
- The MD3604X is housed in a rugged, polycarbonate NEMA 4X enclosure. This rating ensures it is water-tight, dust-tight, and highly resistant to corrosion. It is specifically designed for "washdown" areas (common in food and beverage plants) and is suitable for use in NEMA 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 applications, making it one of the most versatile disconnects for harsh indoor or outdoor conditions.
- This switch is built for heavy-duty performance across various industrial voltages: 20 HP at 240V AC , 40 HP at 480V AC , 40 HP at 600V AC With a 600V AC maximum rating, it can handle most standard 3-phase industrial motor loads found in North American manufacturing.
- One of the primary advantages of the MD series is its extremely small footprint. Measuring approximately 8.27" high, 4.94" wide, and 4.37" deep, it is significantly smaller than a traditional sheet-metal safety switch. This makes it the perfect solution for mounting directly on machines or in crowded control areas where space is at a premium.
- The switch features a high-visibility red handle that is fully OSHA lockout/tagout compatible. It can be padlocked in the "OFF" position to ensure worker safety. Additionally, the handle includes a safety interlock that prevents the enclosure cover from being removed while the switch is in the "ON" position, preventing accidental exposure to live parts.
